Holding a piece of paper with a phone number written on it, he sat in the first row of seats directly behind the driver. The deceased, who was said to have been quiet throughout the trip, did not get out of the vehicle to rest or stretch his legs when the driver made a mid-journey stop at Assin Fosu at the request of some passengers.

After approaching the vehicle and standing by the window, a hawker who had been summoned by a passenger to buy bread realized there was something wrong with the deceased as they continued their journey. She informed the driver that it appeared as though the passenger had passed away.

After that, the driver stopped to check on him. In order to continue their journey, the terrified passengers got off the bus and boarded other buses, leaving only the driver and the deceased on board.

After that, the driver went back to Mankessim and told the police about the incident for them to look into further. While the police investigation continues, the deceased's body has been deposited at the Saltpond Government Hospital. A surprising number of phone calls to the deceased's number have not been returned. Consequently, the public has been asked to assist the police in locating the deceased person's family.
