Vice President Bawumia Hands Over Magnificent Central Mosque To Kumasi

After the exciting commissioning of the reconstructed Kumasi Central Mosque on Friday, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia handed it over to the Mosque's committee.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, and a slew of other prominent dignitaries, including Ministers, MPs, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, regional Imams, Zongo Chiefs, and prominent Muslim and Christian clerics, attended the commissioning ceremony.

The excited Muslim people group from the Ashanti Locale and then some, turned up in their numbers to show appreciation to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for what is being hailed as an exceptional token of giving a stunning piece of engineering.

Just in time for Jummah prayers, the Vice President and the Asantehene gave the mosque its official go-ahead. The mosque, which can hold 7000 people, was packed to the brim within minutes of its opening, with a number of people praying outside. Some people were seen crying with happiness and admiring the mosque's stunning beauty as they entered.
